History and fundamentals of the association
Via-Marseille-Fos is an association under the law of 1901, founded in 2012 by the Union Maritime et Fluviale de Marseille-Fos, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille-Fos. The purpose of the association is to collectively promote the attractiveness of the region in terms of transport and logistics, around the port of Marseille-Fos. The association brings together several entities, including Provence Promotion, Marseille Gyptis International, the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur Region, the Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolitan Area and the City of Marseille. Via-Marseille-Fos aims to promote and encourage “forwarding agents, shippers and all other operators to use the port of Marseille-Fos as a natural transit point for their imports and exports to and from all over the world.
A word from the Chairman, Stéphane Salvetat
For more than 10 years, the Marseille-Fos Port Promotion Association has been travelling the world to meet companies wanting to trade with Europe via the Mediterranean Sea. It is through my long experience in the logistics and port sector that I have been able to witness the development of the Marseille-Fos port. I can tell you with conviction that our port and our port community have assets and services that you won’t find anywhere else. The association is the only one of its kind, bringing together all the economic and institutional players linked to the port of Marseille, which it unites around a common objective: to speak with one and the same voice to local, national, and international economic players. Through our actions, we aim to promote the development of the port and its stakeholders, and thus contribute to the economic development of our region. I invite you to come and meet us at the various trade fairs we attend, as well as during our promotional missions abroad.
